Re-live life aboard Captain Cook's Endeavour
Step aboard the magnificent Australian-built replica of Cook’s Endeavour at the National Maritime Museum at Sydney's Darling Harbour.
Structurally and in its rigging and fittings, the HM Bark Endeavour replica is hailed as one of the most accurate ship replicas anywhere in the world.
The original Endeavour achieved international fame when Cook sailed from England to Tahiti in the Pacific Ocean to observe the transit of Venus across the sun. The explorer continued west across the Pacific to circumnavigate New Zealand and chart the east coast of Australia.
Like the original ship, the Endeavour replica has also conquered great distances. Built in Fremantle WA and launched in 1993, it has just returned from its own second circumnavigation of the globe.
